Tempura Fried Pearl Oyster Mushrooms

Directions:

In a medium bowl, whisk together the rice flour, ice water, half of gochujang sauce, sesame seeds and salt.  Set aside.

Separate mushrooms into small segments.  Set aside.  Add oil to a large saucepan and pre-heat to 350 degrees.  Meanwhile, in a medium bowl, whisk together remaining gochujang sauce, slaw dressing and sweet chili sauce.

Using tongs, dip mushrooms into the prepared batter one segment at a time, making sure to coat mushrooms completely.  Quickly lower mushrooms into the hot oil.  Fry for 3 minutes or until golden brown.  Transfer mushrooms to a plate lined with paper towels.

Add fried mushrooms to the bowl of spicy chili sauce and toss to coat.  Serve with Asian slaw if desired.
